Virtual Game Station
Virtual Game Station is a dedicated emulator for the PlayStation (PS1), developed by Connectix. It stands out for its generally solid compatibility, though limited to 2D games, with no support for 3D hardware acceleration. Its use remains suitable for titles relying primarily on 2D graphics or sprites, such as certain racing games or platformers.
Declared incompatible with macOS, this emulator does not run on recent versions of Apple’s operating system, including those based on Apple Silicon. Development ceased after its acquisition by Sony, and no updates are planned. Performance therefore depends solely on the host machine’s CPU/CPU resources.
