QDAE
QDAE is an emulator for the Apricot range of computers (F1, Xi, and Portable models), designed around an Intel 8086 processor. It replicates the key hardware components (display via SDL, peripherals such as floppy drives or virtual hard drives) and supports DOS/GEM-compatible operating systems. Developed by John Elliot, it relies on libraries like LibDsk for disk handling and SDL for rendering.
On macOS, QDAE is distributed as source code and requires manual compilation. While not officially optimized for recent architectures (Apple Silicon), a version adapted by Jerome Vernet provides improved integration for macOS. Advanced features (such as voice input or specific Intel 8086 interrupts) remain unimplemented.
