MacMESS

MacMESS is a port of MESS, the versatile emulator specializing in arcade cabinets, consoles, and retro systems, adapted for macOS. Based on SDLMESS, it allows running a wide range of old machines (arcades, 8/16-bit consoles, retro computers, etc.) with optimized compatibility for Intel architectures under macOS 10.7 and later versions.

Builds for PowerPC are also available, providing a solution for users of older Macs (from macOS 10.4 onwards) equipped with G3 processors or higher. The graphical interface MessMenu (dedicated front-end) is offered as an add-on, running on the same platforms and requiring a G4 processor or higher for PPC versions. The emulator remains active through community updates, with an official reference to the MESS project for the latest developments.
