KEGS
KEGS is an emulator dedicated to the Apple IIGS, a retro machine from the late 1980s. Developed by Kent Dickey, it aims for an accurate reproduction of the original hardware, including the 68000 processor and its peripherals, for a compatible experience with software and games designed for this platform.
On macOS, it works from macOS 10.13 onward and supports models equipped with Apple Silicon chips (M1 and later). The emulator stands out for its stability and ability to run demanding graphical applications and demos, though performance depends on the host hardware. The project remains open-source, with source code available for customization or auditing. An original Apple IIGS ROM is required for its use.
