Joyce
Joyce is an emulator dedicated to Amstrad PCW computers, a popular range of machines from the 1980s designed for office and educational use. It supports standard models as well as the PCW16 via the ANNE subsystem, offering extended compatibility with software and peripherals from the era (matrix printers, serial port, etc.).
Originally developed for Unix, Joyce runs on macOS through compilation from its source code, requiring the libraries SDL, libpng, and libxml. While not officially maintained for Apple Silicon, its SDL-based architecture theoretically allows portability to recent architectures. The emulator includes advanced features such as PDF export of prints or emulation of specific peripherals (joystick, parallel port), but remains aimed at experienced users due to its manual compilation process.
